Eagan Rotary Club’s annual "Sherri's Book Project” - March 19 and 20, 2024
This week, Leif had the pleasure of reading "See the Ghost" to two different first-grade classes for the Eagan Rotary Club’s annual "Sherri's Book Project.”
The project involves Eagan Rotarians reading the same book to every first-grade class in Eagan and every first-grader receiving a free copy to take home and hold on to. Check it out!

Connecting with penpals - November 2023
In November, President and Financial Advisor of Achievement Financial, Leif Hagen, had the opportunity to connect with some of his penpals from around the world. Check it out!
When Leif was a St. Olaf College exchange student in Paderborn, West Germany in 1986, he visited his penpal Antje Pfannkuchen in Dresden and East Berlin, East Germany.
Over 30 years later, he met Antje again, this time with her daughter, Ella, in St. Paul.
Leif was also visited by longtime Icelandic penpal, Laulau Birgisdóttir, and her husband, Rúnar Einarsson, from Reykjavík.
During their visit, Leif picked them up at the airport holding an Icelandic flag, toured the American Swedish Institute, had coffee with friends and enjoyed many sightseeing adventures.
LEIF HAGEN SELECTED AS DISTRICT GOVERNOR IN 2026-27 OF ROTARY DISTRICT 5950 - OCTOBER 27, 2023
Leif Hagen has been selected by the District Governor Nominating Committee of Rotary District 5950, MN for the role of District Governor in 2026-27. Clubs will vote on the nomination at the District 5950's Annual Meeting on May 16, 2024 via zoom. As District Governor in 2026-27, Leif would join the current District Governor line: Jewelie Grape in 2023-24, Sharon Bloodworth 2024-25, and Mark Shockey 2025-26.

Eagan Community foundation Scholarship awards 2023 - May 17, 2023
Leif was happy to present his “Achievement Financial Linguistic Scholarship,” (annually since 2013) at the 2023 Eagan Community Foundation’s scholarship awards event. His recipient, Isabelle Iten, will study Spanish and International Relations at Wheaton College in the fall. This year, 122 local high school seniors in Eagan split $140,000 in total scholarships. Since the beginning, $2,285,390 in scholarships have been awarded!

Leif and fellow Eagan noon Rotarians visited local elementary schools and read "It's a Sign" to first graders in Eagan in early March 2023. Leif read the book to a 1st grade class and then each student received a personal copy of the book to take home and keep. We love to see reading in the schools! All 1st graders in Eagan received this same book as a gift from the Eagan Rotary Club.

Concordia College 2022 Christmas Concert at MN Orchestra Hall - December 2022
The Achievement Financial office had a Christmastime outing and went to see Leif’s daughter Svea perform with the Concordia Choir on December 8, 2022. The Concordia College choirs and orchestra performed their “Star of Bethlehem, Lead us to Peace” concert in the fabulous MN Orchestra Hall and earned a full-house standing ovation. It was a magical night to remember!

Congratulations to our very own Leif Hagen, the 2022 recipient of the Annie Young Arts Heart Award! On Saturday October 1, Annie Young presented Leif with this award that serves to recognize and honor his initiatives, innovation and creative contributions plus exemplary commitment, leadership and support in the field of art and community. The award was received at the Ames Center in Burnsville during Annie’s “Journey to Rock Bottom” art exhibit opening celebration. Way to go, Leif!
2022 Linguistic Scholarship — May 2022
Natalie Quick is the recipient of this year's 2022 Linguistic Scholarship through Achievement Financial and The Eagan Foundation.
Leif presented Natalie with her scholarship certificate on May 18, 2022. She will go on to study neuroscience and Spanish at the University of Minnesota this fall.

2021 has brought many GREAT new interactions!
After a slow pandemic year (in terms of social events), we’re happy to be out and about again!
Most recently, Leif concluded his second run as President of the Eagan Rotary Club.
To end the Rotary year, a fabulous banquet was planned and took place at the Lost Spur events center in Eagan on June 23, 2021.
