Wishing you luck this St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Patrick’s Day was the feast day to honor Saint Patrick, whose real name was Maewyn Succat,2 but it’s turned into a day we associate with all things Irish – especially luck.3

There are many traditions to engage in this St. Patrick’s Day that can potentially bring you some luck:4

·         Searching for four-leaf clovers, which are rare.

·         Wearing green, the color that symbolizes Ireland’s lush landscape and was worn as a political statement in solidarity against British colonialism.

·         Attending a St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

·         Not eating green food, which isn’t an Irish tradition at all!
